LETTER: When will our playground be built?

Over recent months the fate of Glebe Street Community Centre and its football, rounders, baseball pitch and playground for younger children has been troubling.

This has occurred at a time when the area and its activity has tripled. So it will be fought for by most in the same way the community fought for the old Burnley Wood School.

Also, what happened to the relocation of the playground six months after its sudden demolition without warning? It was supposed to be rebuilt by April by Keepmoat, the builders who want the land, but no movement has occurred. The old area is now fenced off.

This is not satisfactory to the community and if the play area is not soon replaced I shall be requesting the £350 back that was donated by me for a new saucer-swing.
