LETTER: Time to report lazy dog owners who do not pick up after their pets

I am pleased to note Ribble Valley Borough Council’s new policy banning dogs from children’s play areas and sports pitches.

As a father of two small children, this a welcome attempt to solve the problem of dog mess. However, more still needs to be done because, while the vast majority of dog owners are conscientious and clean up after their dogs, unfortunately there is still a minority who fail to do so and don’t care about the wellbeing of other residents and visitors to the town.

I urge anybody who witnesses a dog owner failing to clean up after their dog to report them to the borough council. Surely everybody can support the aim to make Clitheroe clean and clear from the scourge of dog mess?
