LETTER: Theatre group photos bring back memories

One had also appeared the week previously of the young girls’ dancing troupe for the pantomime “Mother Goose.”

I’m in my 80th year now but remember being in the male chorus of this production.

These were always expertly managed by Edmond Cambien, who brought a new leading lady to the fore. This was the stunningly attractive Jacqueline Crawford, who with enticingly good looks played the part of Robin Hood in “Mother Goose” very ably supported by other principal beauties such as Jennifer Haslett and Frances Lofthouse.

These ladies also apear in the 1949 “Queen of Hearts” photo. However, my foray into the footlights was short-lived as I was called up for service in the RAF. Just as a matter of interest, I would like to know in what year these excellent theatricals ceased to be performed, as they were very popular and always played to a full house. Can anyone help?
