LETTER: Thanks for Titanic memorial events

could I, through your newspaper, thank everyone involved in the organisation of the commemorative events for the Titanic centenary.

There were many different and interesting events, but two in particular I would like to pick out.

Firstly, I would like to thank the owners and staff at Foulridge Canal Cruises for the commemorative cruise on Saturday.

The staff did a fantastic job of serving an excellent meal on board while we enjoyed a relaxing cruise.

Secondly, the Titanic Centenary Commemorative Concert at The Muni on Sunday night.

All those involved - the Colne Orpheus Male Voice Choir, Colne Orchestra and all the back room staff had worked hard to bring together an excellent and truly fitting tribute to all those who died on that day 100 years ago.

When Jonathan Evans-Jones played his poignant solo, we all had tears in our eyes.

Truly “A Night to Remember” for all the best reasons.
