LETTER: No shops of interest in Nelson La La Land
I PRESUME Coun. Mike Blomeley is not a resident of Nelson La La Land, perhaps! And I would like to ask him, what shops? The few remaining are hanging on by the skin of their teeth or are up for sale.
Week by week, shops are closing down. The road now passing through the centre will get people doing just that - passing through. In fact, I have seen several elderly people crossing this road, unaware of the oncoming traffic, thinking they are still in a pedestrianised area.
I was born in this town and have seen the best of times; I now feel very sad for the situation it is in; we have nothing to boast about and certainly no shops of any interest.
