LETTER: Fight the rise in car insurance prices in Burnley

MANY people are complaining about the recent rise in petrol, and rightly so. However, the rise only amounts to an extra couple of pounds per fill-up.

Why has the Burnley area been selected for massive increases in car insurance, in many cases as much as double?

I have escaped lightly having only to pay an increase of 43% even though I have 25 years of no claims.

These rises are taking place particularly in the Burnley area. All of the insurance companies are operating as a cartel doing this, so shopping around will not save you from this massive increase. I have written to my MP and would urge others to do the same.
