LETTER: Cut top council exec jobs to save money

Blackpool Council is to save nearly £2m. by axing five top council executive jobs — hats off to them. By doing this they are helping protect frontline services. Will Burnley and Pendle Council follow suit? I seriously doubt it.

Cuts need to be top down, rather than getting rid of people carrying out essential services often on low wages. There are far too many non-jobs within both councils that are paid very nicely indeed.

Please remember them when a service you rely on is cut just so that the chosen few can keep their noses well and truly in the trough.

Have they no shame?
