LETTER: Burnley Wood paint jobs are papering over crack

The £16,000 scheme to paint boards to look like real windows and doors in Reed Street really is a desperate attempt to paper over the cracks.

Housing money is scarce and to waste it on short-term gimmicks is a disgrace. Sustained long-term investment is the only solution. If Coun. Heseltine, as she is quoted, sees this scheme as the “wow factor” for the area then residents are in a lot more trouble than they possibly realised.
