LETTER: Burnley FC tactics ‘leaked’ to opposition

HOW come master tactician Phil Smith has a bigger fan base than The Wanted and NDubz put together? (I only know these groups as my granddaughter told me about them).

This would seem to be the case judging by the praise heaped upon him most weeks in the Express. Either that or he spends a small fortune on stamps.

Has the tactical genius worked out that perhaps not only does Eddie Howe read his words of wisdom but also the opposing managers might have a peek at the Express. Thus forearming them to alter their tactics so outwitting our young manager.

What about a “for your eyes only” approach and send your next tactical manoeuvre directly to Burnley Football Club so as to gain a slight advantage in our next encounter. I have some concerns about Phil, I’ve knocked about the local football scene in various forms for some decades now and can’t remember ever coming across him. Where is he from? Is he a Leeds United fan who has infiltrated the Express? To eliminate this theory please ensure Chris Boden asks him the relevant questions. If Phil turns out to be the real deal maybe he could forward his tactical news to a certain Fabio Capello for next year’s Euros. I think we’ll need all the help we can get.
