LETTER: 20mph signs must be bigger

Much as I applaud the 20mph limit in Barnoldswick, which has been proved to reduce accidents significantly, I do think the signs are not adequate.

Would it have been better to place large rectangular signs on the approach from Skipton Road, Gisburn Road and Manchester Road stating you are now entering a 20 mph zone?

I live in Queen Street, there is no sign on the top or bottom of Cavendish Street except for a dinner-sized plate one half-way up.

And while I’m on the subject of speed limits, who is going to enforce these laws?

Have we employed more police officers or erected more speed cameras?

Sadly, this is a rhetorical question, but I await an answer with some trepidation.
