How to report pothole problems

Geoff Jackson’s letter highlighted the problem of long-standing potholes in Conway Avenue, Clitheroe.

For at least a couple of years now I have used the on-line reporting system of www.fixmystreet.com to alert the local authority of any road defects. You are able to pinpoint the location on the map, report the problem in detail, categorise it and view any updates from other site users.

For problems with pothole, blocked drains, fly-tipping, defective signage, etc. this is an efficient way of informing the highways authority, because it is impossible for them to see every problem as it occurs and instead of waiting for them to eventually spot it this method can lead to a speedy solution to the problem.

It is also helpful to leave your phone number and then an engineer can contact you to ascertain full details if there is any uncertainty.
