Honour war dead, not wild flowers

I for one, and I also hope the majority of the people who live in the Ribble Valley, was not aware the war graves in Clitheroe cemetery are in such a negected state.

How sad to see the picture, which gave the impression of scrubland in this section of the cemetery, instead of neat and well-maintained grassland, and headstones that are normally assosiated with war grave cemeteries.

The purpose of a cemetery for war graves is to honour the brave respectfully, not to create a so-called wildlife habitat to satisfy the interests of a few.

Well done Shaun Warburton, Mel Diack, Simon Entwistle and MP Nigel Evans in bringigng this matter to the attention of the Ribble Valley public.
