Honesty box helps pay for car park
We would like to thank the lady for highlighting that the car park at Pendle Heritage Centre in Barrowford is a private car park for visitors to the centre and is operated on an honesty box basis.
The centre is part of Heritage Trust for the North-West, a registered charity with no funding from the local council, The Heritage Lottery or any other public bodies and relies on donations for the upkeep of the car park.
We also find it very frustrating when the car park is full, giving the impression the centre is busy, which in turn stops prospective visitors from coming in to see us.
