Don’t close our council payment centres

As one who pays his council tax monthly, I was concerned with the proposal to close the council payment centres, stating it can cost £2.60 per transaction.

It hasn’t been helped by the new payment system which takes longer to process and wastes paper printing out unnessary recepts. It was originally printed out on your bill.

If the closure goes ahead, it puts the council in line with the faceless utility companies who see the customer merely as a nine digit number. Their motto is probably “send your money, don’t bother us”.
