Church should not condone hog roast

What is it that is so “fun” about a hog roast, an innocent and sentient animal brutally slaughtered and then humiliated even in death.

The three participating Christian churches in Fence obviously condone this as not one of them has spoken out against this atrocity at the Village Fete.

Why is it that the Church remains so cold, so denatured and so removed from empathy toward God’s “other” creation; is it so difficult to arrange alternative cruelty-free food, food that doesn’t scream?

I believe it was Albert Schweitzer who said any religion which is not based on a respect for life is not a true religion and it is in this respect that Christians should be leading the way but thus far they’re not even in the procession, functioning behind a façade of love and compassion.

Humanity is accruing an enormous debt of karma by its treatment of farmed animals, it’s now time to move out of the dark ages and forward into the 21st Century; go vegan or at least veggie. Where there is evil, cast it out.
