Lack of investment to blame for market demise

So Burnley’s market faces the very real possibility of closing its doors for the final time.

But just who do we point the finger of blame at if the worst scenario becomes reality?

It is all too easy to blame the influx of massive superstores with their all shops under one roof mentality. But that would be unfair in the extreme.

Sadly, a constant lack of investment in Burnley market has seen it trailing behind other such shopping institutions in Blackburn, Bury and Bolton. In those town a concerted effort has been made to modernise and invest in what should be the heart of our town centre.

Sadly, that has not been the case here.
