Crucial post, but show some sense

So Burnley Borough Concil’s executive has backed a plan to spend up to £25,000 to secure the services of a new chief executive.

Now getting the right person for the job is crucial to maintaining Burnley’s momentum, but that figure will not sit well with the many council employees who are set to lose their jobs under cutbacks.

Now I am not privy to the wages paid to council staff, but I think it is fair to suggest that at least one job could be funded by £25,000.

The proposed figure is designed to cover consultancy and advertising costs, leading me to think I am in the wrong job.

The size and timing of this figure will not sit well with many folk.
