Buildings, yes,strategy, no . . .

There is no doubt many parents have sent their children to faith high schools outside Burnley in recent decades.

But it appears that, while the Building Schools programme gave Burnley some superb new buildings, there was little long-term strategy to underpin the facilities.

Now, a number of our new schools are facing a numbers crisis. That could be worsened by the faith school. The fault lies squarely with the lack of long-term planning.
