An Englishman’s home is his castle
Plans for new housing developments and a travellers’ site in Burnley have certainly stirred up a real hornets’ nest of emotion and caused no end of friction between political rivals.
We should not be surprised as an Englishman’s home is his castle and we all seek to protect our own little space. Thankfully, a comprehensive consultation process has been put in place to allow residents to have their two-penneth and feedback any concerns or observations.
Judging by the consultation meetings there has been no shortage of views on both issues and that is good. I certainly do not envy those people who have to make the ultimate decisions.
