Nintendo to relaunch classic NES console - with 30 iconic games

Hot on the heels of the runaway success of Pokemon Go, Nintendo are keeping up the momentum by announcing the relaunch of their classic NES console.
The iconic 80s gaming machine is one of the most successful consoles of all time and propelled Nintendo from little-known Japanese toy manufacturer to one of the biggest brands in the world.

Nintendo have advised that the new, miniaturised, version of the NES won’t connect to the internet and will be unable to run cartridges from the original console.
This means that additional games beyond the launch titles are unlikely.
A Nintendo spokesperson told gaming bloggers Kotaku: “The console is a standalone device, so it cannot connect to the internet or any external storage devices. The 30 games included with the system were chosen to provide a wide variety of top-quality, long-lasting game-play experiences.”
