Lauren Fallows organised the Burnley vs Cancer casino night last year and hosts Part 2 at Turf Moor on Friday, June 26th, with gangster speakeasy this year’s theme.

Gambling, drinking and dancing will once again all be on the menu and money raised on the night will go to Cancer Research UK and Prostate Cancer.

“Last year’s event came off the back of losing a family member of ours, my Grandad Martin, to prostate cancer,” said Lauren, a teacher at St Wilfrid’s Academy in Blackburn.

“My dad, owner of John Fallows Accountants, and I wanted to throw a huge event to bring the people of Burnley together and that’s exactly what we are doing again this year.

“The whole evening is themed with a 1920s gangster twist and indeed the dress code is formal evening dress with an optional gangster twist. Attendees should think along the lines of ball gowns, braces and bow ties – although formal evening dress will suffice if this isn’t your thing.”

There will be 12 casino tables on the night, a raffle, food, which is included in the price of the ticket, and entertainment will come courtesy of 10-piece local band The Soul Convicts. An official after-party will be held at Illuminati in town after the event.

“We have sold tickets already and are set to sell out quicker than we did last year. We have approached this year’s event with a ‘bigger and better’ attitude and it’s promising to be just that.

“We raised just over £4,000 and the aim is to hopefully raise a little more but have a fantastic night in the process. We welcome work parties, couples, anyone who loves getting dolled up and having a good night.

“Last year we had Danny Ings drawing the raffle and this year we have a few sneaky surprises along the way.”

Tickets are £20 and are available on 07966787222 or through @burnleyvscancer. Any businesses interested in sponsoring a gaming table on the night are also encouraged to get in touch.
