The new head is Ms Clare Hayes – previously deputy head at St Anne’s RC High School in Stockport. Her aim is to build up on the fantastic work done by Mr Bohills and the staff, and make Fisher More an “Outstanding” school. She is very much looking forward to working with the young people and their families.

This summer also saw the retirement of Mrs Sue Prior, who had worked there since 1979. She was head of English for many years and was also very instrumental in the school’s attainment of Specialist status in 2006. She is also looking forward to retirement and travel. And governors have now agreed to the school’s name reverting to SS John Fisher and Thomas More RC High School.
