Leanne Case (22), of Macleod Street, and Natasha Case (21), of Carleton Street, both Nelson, pleaded guilty to two charges of shoplifting.

Leanne Case was sent on bail to Burnley Crown Court to be sentenced after the magistrates heard that the offence put her in breach of a suspended prison sentence imposed by the Crown Court.

Natasha Case was made subject to community supervision for six months and ordered to pay £60 costs.

Mr Bernard Horne, defending Natasha Case, said she had gone on a legitimate shopping trip.

“During the course of that, certain suggestions were made by her sister and my client foolishly went along with them,” Mr Horne told the court.
