Nelson man (20) was ‘mad, drunk, out of control’ when he locked partner in house

Joshua Hopson, who has never been in trouble before, was said by his victim to be “mad, drunk, out of control and jealous.”

The defendant, now living in Wales, has admitted assault causing actual bodily harm.

Judge Beverly Lunt has earlier said she was thinking of giving the defendant a suspended jail term to help him with his drinking or temper or both, He was bailed until February 25th for a pre-sentence report on condition he does not enter Colne or Nelson.
