Mystery deepens over Barnoldswick UFO sighting

A Hollins Road resident emailed in a picture of the classic disc shaped object after seeing it in the sky at around 7am on Wednesday, December 11th.

Now two further people have come forward having seen mystifying things in the sky above the town on the same morning.

Linda Sutton was driving over the tops from Barlick to Barrowford around 8-30am with her daughter and son-in-law when she made a joke about it being a UFO because it was stationary, unlike the vapour trails of two planes close by.

She said: “For as much as I believe we are not the only sentient life in the universe.

“I doubt that what we saw was anything more than the sun reflecting off something. It was just so weird that it seemed stationary.”

Another Barnoldswick resident, Jackie Taylforth, saw something on what she believes was the same morning, although in different circumstances.

She said: “I was talking to a man outside my home on Bank Street in Barnoldswick; something bright suddenly came shooting above us in the sky.

“It was quick and looked like something racing. Of course Terry asked if I had been drinking which amused me, but this was very odd.”
