Musical treat pays tribute to '˜Mr BLOS'

Lovers of Broadway and West End musicals are in for a real treat at The Burnley Mechanics this weekend.

For Burnley Light Opera Society is staging a special three-night run of ‘Musical Memories’ – a rousing tribute to society stalwart and chairman Colin Sanderson who passed away last year.

More than 30 past and present cast members will perform 34 songs from 30 shows performed by BLOS during the 30 years of Colin’s chairmanship.

Colin dedicated much of his time to Burnley Light Opera Society and was affectionately known as ‘Mr BLOS’.

Anthony Williams has produced and directed the concert with Jonathan Chalker as the musical director.

The first show took place on Thursday evening with performances also scheduled for this evening and Saturday at 7-30pm.
