Mr Pennine 2015 bodybuilding contest taking shape

The competition was revived by late Burnley gym owner Michael Coupe in 2014, 25 years since it had last been held.

Michael died in September but the show will go on in his memory when it comes to the Pendle Hippodrome on April 25th.

IBFA head judge Colin Tyson visited Intershape Gym in Colne to show off the new trophy for this year’s competition. Show promoter Margaret Duckworth, who also helped bring the show back last year, has pulled out all the stops to ensure this year’s event is bigger and better than ever before in a bid to honour Michael.

Colin said: “Michael was an avid supporter of grass roots bodybuilding and went out of his way to support both the IBFA federation and up and coming new talent. This year the show will be held in his memory.

“This year the Mr Pennine show promises to promote the very best of male and female physiques from the local area and will provide a pathway for the best athletes to qualify for the IBFA Mr and Miss Britain and then onto the World Championships held in Rome.”
