The money was half of the total raised when they got together for their 24th annual rally – an 88 mile trek through Pendle, the Ribble Valley and Trough of Bowland that started and finished at Earby’s Old Stone Trough Inn, which is where the club meets on the third Tuesday of every month.

Entry fees and the proceeds of a raffle brought in the donation, with the other half of it going to support Airedale Hospital’s children’s charity.

Rosemere Cancer Foundation spends the donations it receives on vital equipment, research and training that cannot be funded by the NHS.

Rosmere strives to bring world class cancer treatments and services to cancer patients via the region’s three specialist treatment centres – the Rosemere Cancer Centre at the Royal Preston Hospital, Blackpool Victoria Hospital for blood cancers and the Royal Blackburn Hospital for liver cancers.

The charity also funds those things that can make the cancer journey a little more comfortable such as free access to complementary therapies for all newly diagnosed patients.
