More than 1,200 Burnley pupils explore local career opportunities

More than 1,200 Year 11 pupils from across Burnley have explored the wide range of career opportunities available locally at the council's recent Find Your Future event.
Held at Burnley Football Club, the event brought together employers, colleges and training providers to help young people learn more about different industries and their options after leaving school.
Among the exhibitors were Safran Nacelles, AMS Neve and Fagan & Whalley, alongside organisations representing sectors including aerospace, advanced manufacturing, digital technology, healthcare and construction.
Pupils had the opportunity to speak directly with employers about different careers, apprenticeships and the skills and qualifications needed to enter their industries.
Councillor Lubna Khan, Burnley Council's Executive Member for Development and Growth, said:
"Burnley is home to a diverse range of businesses, including companies operating nationally and internationally, and it's important that our young people are aware of the opportunities available to them.
"Find Your Future gives pupils the chance to meet employers, explore different careers and think about their next steps.
"I would encourage parents and carers to talk to their children about the event, find out which businesses they spoke to and what careers interested them. It's a great opportunity to continue those conversations at home and help young people explore the options available to them, particularly the opportunities we have right here in Burnley."
Now in its third year, Find Your Future continues to strengthen links between local businesses and education, helping young people make informed decisions about their future.
