Model railway exhibition in Brierfield

A good show with an interesting collection of models was the verdict of visitors at the model railway exhibition in Brierfield at the weekend.

Brierfield Model Railway Club had eight layouts on show, inclduing Ravens Grove, running the latest in modern railway stock and created by the club’s own David Carter

He said: “All the exhibits attracted a good deal of interest and quite a few people claimed that, having seen what was on show and speaking to exhibitors, they were motivated to return home and make a start on models of their own!

“It was a most enjoyable weekend and it was a great pleasure to put our models on show to the public. We are a very grateful to all our modelling friends for their support and to our traders for their help.”

The Brierfield club raises money for St Luke’s Church and is very much connected with Pendle Forest Model Railway Society.

Mr Carter said: “As a lead-in to the Pendle Forest Model Railway Society’s 50th anniversary year, the event was a good start and we look forward to putting on more events during the year.”
