Missing man: body is found

Lancashire Police have called off the search for a missing 36 year-old man after a body was discovered on Saturday afternoon in Haslingden.

Lee Peel, of Bury Road, Haslingden, was reported missing around 11-30am on January 30th after leaving an address in Fern Terrace, Haslingden.

A search of the surrounding area was undertaken by police and mountain rescue teams, with the hunt called off when the body was discovered around 2pm on wasteland near Fern Terrace.

There are no suspicious circumstances and police are preparing a report for the coroner as is normal in cases like this.

Officers are comforting friends and relatives of Mr Peel and thank everyone who helped support the appeal for the missing man.
