Massive hunt in Burnley for missing dog

Willow, an 11 month-old black Labrador with a nervous nature, bolted with her flexi-lead still attached during a walk in Scott Park on Monday afternoon, after being spooked by two dogs. Her owners, who are currently holidaying in Majorca, have been left devastated by the news and are trying to arrange a flight home to join the search. A reward has been promised for Willow’s safe return.

A potential sighting of a small, black dog with its still lead attached has been made on the railway track at Rosegrove Railway Station at 7-15am on Tuesday.

The young dog spent the first eight months of her life malnourished and living in a shed with 19 other puppies before being found and re-homed by Labrador Rescue. Due to her nervous nature, residents are being asked not to give chase if they make a sighting.

If found she must be reported to the Council Dog Warden by law.
