Mr Pickett, who is also the Rector of St James’ Church, Clitheoe, has worked in the town for 11 years and said he was very much looking forward to the challenge of helping his new congregation live out the Christian faith.

In his new role at St Paul’s he replaces the Rev. Rodney Nicholson, who retired last year.
