Man arrested after hit-and-run

Police have arrested a 31-year-old man from Burnley on suspicion of drink driving and failing to stop following the incident which happened on Burnley Road, Cliviger.

A Toyota Aygo was in collision with a Husqvarna motorcycle at 11pm last night, and it is alleged the driver of the Aygo drove away from the scene without stopping.

A man was arrested, held overnight and was due to be questioned today.

The motorcyclist was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital with injuries to his leg, back and arm. Police have described them as serious, but not life-threatening.
