‘Mad Friday’ pub attack: CCTV appeal

Police have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to following an assault in the toilets of a Haslingden pub on “Mad Friday”.

About 11-35pm on December 20th, a 20-year-old man was waiting to use the urinals in the male toilets of The Green Squirrel pub in Manchester Road when another man head-butted him in the face, causing his head to split open.

PC Amy Tattersall from Burnley CID said: “The attack was totally unprovoked and left the victim requiring hospital treatment. If anybody has any information about this incident or recognises the man in the CCTV I would urge them to contact Lancashire Police on 101.”
