Little girl with big dreams of keeping Clitheroe clean
A little girl with big dreams to keep Clitheroe clean has recruited a major housebuilder to help.
Eight-year-old Gracie-Rae Spedding, who attends St James Primary School, reached out to Miller Homes as she began litter picking near to an upcoming development, Montague Place. The housebuilder and Gracie-Rae have now joined forces in a bid to keep the local area litter-free.
Gracie-Rae describes herself as a “fairy eco warrior” and is committed to keeping Clitheroe beautiful. She will be putting weatherproof posters around the local area reminding people to take their rubbish home with them. Miller Homes also donated a litter pick and hi vis jacket to keep Gracie-Rae safe on her eco-friendly adventures.
Mum Melanie Spedding said: “I’m so proud of Gracie Rae and how she wants to help out her community. She was so excited when Miller Homes offered to help out and is looking forward to putting her new posters up around the local area.”
Leanne Feeley, regional sales manager for Miller Homes in the North West, added: “We were delighted to help out Gracie-Rae and think she’s doing a stellar job keeping Clitheroe clean and tidy. We’re really looking forward to bringing new homes to this beautiful, picturesque area and know that it’s in good hands with Gracie-Rae.”
Miller Homes is currently building homes at Montague Place, a development that will see 110 homes will be built in total.
The builder will also be making contributions of over £870,000 that will go towards a variety of different areas for the residents and local community. Over £600,000 of the sum will go towards education, £70,000 to town centre upgrade works and £200,000 will go towards improving public transport.
