Lidl recalls cheese due to allergy risk
Lidl UK is recalling its Deluxe Mature Cheddar with Pickled Onions and Chives as it contains sulphites which are not mentioned on the product packaging.
This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with a sensitivity to sulphur dioxide and/or sulphites.
Lidl, which has stores in Burnley, nelson and Clitheroe, has issued the alert on its 100g packs of the cheese which have a use by date of June 8th 2015.
The Food Standards Agency has advised anyone who has bought the cheese and has a sensitivity to sulphur dioxide and/or sulphites, not to eat it and return the product to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.
Lidl has recalled the cheese from sale and is displaying notices in stores that sold the affected product.
