Katie aims to be crowned Miss North West
Katie Precious (23) will be one of 34 women from across the region aiming for the accolade when the final is held at The Sands Venue in Blackpool on Sunday, November 15th.
Katie is determined to overcome stage fright as well as win the top prize and on the day she will have to stand out from the crowd and deliver a shining performance across four categories.
She is raising money for the Variety children’s charity too, and the jewel in the crown would be to reach a four figure sum.
Katie said: “I’m so happy and excited to be in the final. You’ve got to just be yourself and be confident. I wanted to do this to prove that I can. It has taken courage for me to do this.
“The charity is a worthy cause aiming to improve lives. I’m aiming to raise £1,000 and if I can manage that it would be amazing.”
Katie faces tough competition but hopes she has an ace up her sleeve to win on the day.
Katie added: “It’s going to be very hard.
“You don’t know what you’ll be doing until you find out on the morning of the final.
“One of the categories is one where you have got to make an outfit from recycled materials. I’m not going to say what my design is but I’m confident mine will be different from everybody else’s.
“I’ve had a lot of support from friends and family and I’ve set up a Facebook group called ‘Vote Katie Precious For Miss North West 2015’. Now I need every vote I can get.”
