Inside the newly opened Clitheroe bookshop celebrating magic, folklore & nature

Clitheroe’s new bookshop, which has a special focus on the Pendle Witches and local folklore, has officially opened.

A cosy, carefully curated bookshop that celebrates magic, folklore, nature and everyday reading for all ages has opened in the heart of Clitheroe.

Thistle and Thorn Books opened on Saturday, July 18th on Castle Street. The shop stocks new books of all descriptions, and has a carefully curatred yet ‘enchanted’ interior created by a local mural artist, with a section dedicated to the Pendle Witches, folklore and myths, reflecting shop owner Lynzie Cotton’s passion for the subject, which began as a child.

Thistle and Thorn Books also plans to host events ranging from events, talks, bookclubs and workshops. The store also has long-term plans to use the first-floor area for refreshments. Our photographer Kelvin Stuttard visited the shop to take you on a virtual tour inside Clitheroe’s new bookstore. Take a look at the pictures below.
