More than 35 live music acts will perform across three stages over the long weekend alongside hordes of activities for families and younger revelers. A Cloudspotting Rio-Style Carnival – fitting for Olympics year – a sports day delivered by the Lancashire Sport Partnership, a family disco and a vintage mobile cinema are all part of the programme.

Arts workshops, mountain bike hire and walking trails are offered for the more active while yoga, storytelling and a pub-style music quiz are more relaxing pursuits on the menu.

The festival sports a superb range of beers and ales from Bowland Brewery and Hop Star Brewery and a mouth-watering choice of good value food outlets, making Cloudspotting a destination where you just need to turn up with your tent and chill-out.

The Friday night has an experimental edge with critically acclaimed headliner Kiran Leonard – whose debut album Grapefruit has earned wide praise – and popular Manchester eight-piece Honeyfeet featuring alongside local bands Good Foxy, and Bad Cardigan.
