Huge pub blaze remains a mystery

No arrests have yet been made following a devastating fire at the former Bull and Butcher pub at the beginning of April.

Police confirmed they are still no nearer to discovering who was responsible for the arson attack on the historic landmark building in Manchester Road. Large parts of the building have since been demolished. Firefighters from across East Lancashire fought the blaze for several hours following after being called to the pub around 2am on Monday, April 4th.

Police appealed for information regarding a report of two youths seen in the area immediately before the report of the fire described as between 16-20 years old males, one riding or pushing a bike.
