The town hall was granted an injunction to move a group of anti-cuts protesters who had been camped out in Albert Square for five days.

A demonstration the previous Wednesday saw some protesters storm the building resulting in a broken window and allegations of an assault on a security guard.

Staff were kept inside the town hall for around two hours while police made the building safe.
