A reunion, to mark the 40th anniversary since they all went their separate ways, has been organised by classmates from the former Colne Grammar School.

The get together is for pupils who left the school in 1976, the final year before it became Nelson and Colne College. Although several get togethers have taken place over the years, organisers Carl Ross, Karalynn Pickering and Cath Stephenson thought it would be rather poignant to hold the reunion on the 40th anniversary of them leaving and also the end of the school as they knew it.

Carl said: “We have had get togethers before with just a handful of us so we are hoping for a really good turnout for the 40th anniversary.”

The informal reunion will be held on Saturday, July 30th at Wetherspoon’s in Colne from 7-30pm. Anyone who would like to attend can just turn up on the night or contact Carl on 07815969707 for more details.
