Thirteen-year-old Fran Gilbert and her mum Gilly, from Higham, have so far raised a fantastic £1,200 for the Together Trust, a Cheadle-based charity which offers care, support and special education to children, young people, vulnerable adults and their families.

Fran was crowned Higham’s rose queen in May 2017 and since then has never stopped her fund-raising campaign including a Christmas campaign and the sale of festive gifts.

Her final push is an epic 76-mile cycle ride to Blackpool and back this Sunday.

Proud mum Gilly said: "We are delighted to support the Together Trust and all the work they do to support some of the most vulnerable people in the North-West.”

Fran said: “I chose to support this amazing cause after reading the book 'The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time'. It inspired me to find out more about autism and help a wonderful charity that supports autistic children and young people with autism. I am looking forward to finding out more.”

Sarah Suthers, fund-raiser for Together Trust, said: “Fran and her family have worked extremely hard over many months to raise these funds.

“On behalf of everyone at the Trust I would like to say a big thank you for all they have done to raise this money for Together Trust and the people we support.”
