Hattie plays Last Post at Remembrance service
A Colne schoolgirl helped lead tributes to Pendle’s fallen at the weekend.
Hattie Nuttall (12) played the Last Post at the service held at the war memorial in Albert Road.
It is the second year the Bacup and Rawtenstall Grammar School pupil, who is a member of the Second Rossendale Scout Band and the National Children’s Brass Band of Great Britain, has played her cornet at the service.
She is the fifth generation of cornet players in her family and mum Sue said she is extremely proud of her.
“She started playing when she was seven, it’s a long family tradition. It’s a great event to be asked to do, especially at such a young age.”
