The incident happened at shortly before 11pm when a 23-year-old woman was walking along Tennyson Road. When she was at the junction with Slater Avenue she is thought to have been grabbed from behind by a man and dragged into a ginnel where possibly two or three other men were waiting.

She was then subjected to a serious sexual assault, possibly by two of the men.

One of the offenders is described as dark skinned and being about 6ft tall and another as chubby. All the men were wearing hats and one may have been wearing a waterproof coat.
