Four in a Bed comes to the valley

The TV show, which airs Monday to Friday at 5 pm, sees bed and breakfast and hotel owners take it in turns to stay in each others hostelries and then pay what they consider a fair rate for their night’s stay.

After being contacted earlier in the year by Channel 4 and asked to take part, owners Janet Sutton and Margaret Lofthouse decided to go for it. Janet explained: “We like the programme and knowing we’re good at what we do, we thought it might make for good publicity and also boost the profile of the hotel. We’ve worked really hard to get our accommodation to a really high standard and we’re proud to be able to show off our hard work.”

The programme featuring The Avenue will air on Monday, December 16th, followed by the other four competitors appearing on consecutive nights. Friday is the final and the show were the audience finds out who has been paid the most in room rates and is therefore the winner.

Janet continued: “It was a gruelling filming schedule as we had to travel up to Penrith and down to two locations in Cornwall, where we were constantly filmed over the course of the week. We had such a good laugh though and it was great meeting the other people taking part. We’re not allowed to say who won, so we’ll leave it for everyone to watch and find out how we got on.”
