Four fire engines called out after large amount of tyres and several cars set alight in Burnley

Fire crews are still at the scene of a blaze in Burnley this morning involving a large amount of tyres and several cars.

Four fire engines from Burnley, Hyndburn and Nelson were called out to Plumbe Street at 7-42am and huge plumes of black smoke could be seen across the town.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two jets, a power saw and one ground monitor to extinguish the fire.
