Former Robert Plant guitarist coming to Barnoldswick
A former guitarist for Led Zeppelin’s Robert Plant is set to head to Barnoldswick next month for a very special Sunday afternoon matinee, featuring a special tribute to Roy Buchanan.
Innes Sibun is set to grace the intimate Music & Arts Centre on Sunday, 30th August as part of the Blues of the World Programme. Sibun has built a reputation as one of Britain’s finest blues guitarists for over three decades, with his performances renowned for their intensity, soul and sheer musical authority.

Through years of touring, recording and performing he steadily carved out a place among the most respected blues musicians in the UK. In the 1990s, his abilities caught the attention of Led Zeppelin’s legendary frontman Robert Plant, who subsequently invited Sibun to join him on tour during the Fate of Nations era. Touring with Plant saw Sibun grace stages across Europe, South America and North America, introducing his guitar playing to a worldwide audience.
Additionally, Sibun has performed with other legendary artists such as Johnny Winter, Taj Mahal, Walter Trout, Peter Green and The Fabulous Thunderbirds, crafting a reputation as one of the best guitarists in Britain. The majority of his performance in Barnoldswick will serve as a journey through his career, ranging from his songs, guitar styles and influences that have shaped his life in the blues.
The evening promises to deliver everything ranging from deep Chicago blues grooves and soulful slow burners to fiery electric blues workouts and powerful originals. Sibun is also set to dedicate a special section of the show to the legendary American guitarist Roy Buchanan.
Buchanan, who was referred to as the master of the Fender Telecaster, influenced generations of guitarists ranging from David Gilmour, Jeff Beck, Danny Gatton and Gary Moore, and became one of the most revered guitarists in blues history.
Sibun’s performance stands to deliver world-class musicianship and electric blues. Head on down to the Music & Arts Centre on August 30th to see Sibun in action. Tickets are available at - https://www.barnoldswickmusicandartscentre.com/innes-sibun-band-afternoon-matinee
