Floods..the aftermath
Armies of volunteers were gathering to help those affected by the worst flooding the county has seen for decades. More rain had been predicted overnight and householders across the Ribble Valley were being warned that more floodiing was expected in the early hours of the morning.
Fire crews across the area have been kept busy answering emergency and life threatening calls only and the army was drafted in in Whalley where people had to be rescued from their homes as water flooded through the main street.
